Doctor of the Year awarded for expertise and genuine care

259 SJOG Doctors XmasOrthopaedic surgeon Michael Halliday was named St John of God Murdoch Hospital’s Doctor of the Year for 2013 in early December.

CEO John Fogarty said Mr Halliday was a very worthy recipient of the prestigious award, having contributed significantly to the field of medicine and to the hospital.

“Mr Halliday has the best interests of his patients at the forefront of his mind,” said Mr Fogarty.

“He is well-known for his expertise, generosity of spirit and genuine care for his patients.”

Mr Halliday, who specialises in upper limb orthopaedics, started his practice in West Perth in 1998 and moved to the Murdoch Orthopaedic Clinic two years later.

He has an excellent reputation in the medical community; he is the Chair of Orthopaedics on the SJGMH Medical Advisory Council and Chair of the Orthopaedic Craft Group.
